As proud owners of not just one, but two powerful telescopes, we make use of every opportunity we get to capture the night sky in all its glory. Here are a few photographs we have taken through the telescope.
Our trip to Kodachadri this January gave a great view of the night sky which would have been impossible in NITK. Far away from civilization, the completely cloudless sky allowed us to see far more in the sky than usual. This photo was taken by Amit Patel, a member of the club.
This photograph was taken using the 7” Maksutov Cassegrain telescope(MCT), which has recently been got back into working condition. Clearly visible are the bands of Jupiter, and its two Moons. The magnification this telescope provides is simply amazing.
Taken from NITK itself, the craters of the moon are visible in great detail. Photo taken on 16th March 2017, through the 7” Maksutov Cassegrain telescope(MCT).
